More Z1 drama and flaming. http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=general&msg_id=1458382
Customer complaints and even more drama. As I have said, there are plenty of people who have had good experiences with Z1, but there are also a fair number who have had bad experiences with them. If you look hard enough, you will find plenty of times when their reputation for quality and service have been called into question. And even if not all of the incidents are their fault, there have been far too many for it to be entirely coincidence. In my years of observing these forums, I have seen far too many questionable incidents and quite a lot of "less-than-professional" behavior coming from Z1.
If I knew them closely and personally, and if I were local and could "check in" on them while they worked on my car, then I might have far less reservations about sending them my business--but I am not, cannot, and do not. If I send my car to a shop, I am putting my trust in their knowledge, their attention to detail, their standards of quality, and their devotion to those standards. Quite frankly, they seem very unprofessional, and that is not where I would like to put my trust. They maybe be great guys, and they seem to be both knowledgeable and capable, but they also seem to be rather inconsistant, and, at times, careless and juvenile. It's kind of like with ebay: Do you pay attention to people's feedback ratings? I generally refuse to deal with anyone who has a feedback less than 98% positive. I just prefer to minimize my risk--within certain parameters--of being screwed over. And that is why I personally would not send my business to Z1.
